Getting Started...

On my journey to becoming a teacher I've found some websites that could be very helpful to not only myself but other teachers too. Hope you like them!

1. Teachers Pay Teachers - This is a website that allows to teachers to buy, sell, and share their resources and ideas with one another. Highly recommend!

2. Weebly - Weebly is a K-5 interactive site that has educational game and simulations for every subject you may need help with.

3. BrainPop - "Founded in 1999, BrainPOP® creates animated, curricular content that engages students, supports educators, and bolsters achievement." My field placement teacher used this site quite a bit last semester, the students really seemed to enjoy it.

4. EDSITEment - "EDSITEment offers a treasure trove for teachers, students, and parents searching for high-quality material on the Internet in the subject areas of literature and language arts, foreign languages, art and culture, and history and social studies." However, due to the government shutdown the site is currently shutdown too.

5. What Was There? - A very neat website that allows users to search an area to see what was there before and what it looks like now. Very cool site for history projects.

6. 50 States - A website that provides users with all sorts information, resources, and trivia about the 50 states, of course.

7. Essay Punch - This website will help students with writing any sort of basic essay. It helps users develop an idea, an introduction, 2-3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The web site provides questions and tips to guide the user through a simple step by step process.

8. Character Scrapbook - This site allows users to pull up their book and character from that book to help analyze that character.

9. Mr. Nussbaum - Mr. Nussbaum was put together by a man who wanted to provide teachers and students with a site that provided concepts, themes, fact sets taught in the classroom which can be enhanced through the Internet.

10.  The Great Lakes - A website fully dedicated to information and knowledge about our Great Lakes. A must for any social studies class in Michigan let alone the Midwest.
